Canna<\/span> is<\/span> a <\/span>monocotyledon<\/span> in <\/span>Cannaceae<\/span> family<\/span> and the <\/span>only<\/span> genus<\/span> in <\/span>this<\/span> family<\/span>. It <\/span>is<\/span> a <\/span>perenial<\/span> herbaceous<\/span> tropical plant <\/span>with<\/span> underground stems (rhizomes). It <\/span>is<\/span> frequently<\/span> used<\/span> as <\/span>garden<\/span> ornemental plant forming <\/span>nice<\/span> flowers<\/span> in <\/span>shades<\/span> of <\/span>different<\/span> colors<\/span>, <\/span>red<\/span>, oranges, <\/span>yellow<\/span> and <\/span>pinks<\/span>. <\/span>Stems are <\/span>covered<\/span> with<\/span> large <\/span>leaves<\/span>.\u00a0
The sections on this page are vibratome cross sections made in fresh, unfixed stems and stained with astra blue and basic fuchsin.
