(<\/span><strong><span lang=\"en-US\">see below<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"en-US\">).<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin-top: 15px; margin-bottom: 15px; line-height: 25.2px;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Some notions relative to\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/michelecrevecoeur.ch\/?page_id=154\"><span lang=\"en-US\">morphology of vegetative<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0organs will be found on another page.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin-top: 0.49cm; margin-bottom: 0.49cm; line-height: 21px;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Superior plants, unable to move, have had to develop the ability to live in a wide variety of environments, sometimes extreme. This is reflected among other things by the astonishing plasticity of their vegetative organs&rsquo; morphylogy. The study of the tissues constituting these organs has proved to be an essential tool for the study of this great morphological plasticity and for the comparison of different phenotypes, wild and mutant (see\u00a0<a style=\"background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; text-decoration: underline;\" title=\"Research\" href=\"https:\/\/michelecrevecoeur.ch\/?page_id=117\">Research<\/a>).<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin-top: 0.49cm; margin-bottom: 0.49cm; line-height: 21px;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Most of micrographs concern fresh sections, made either with a Leica VTs Vibratome or with a razor blade and paraffin sections made with a rotary microtome, either Anglia or MicroTec cut 45 (see\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/michelecrevecoeur.ch\/?page_id=601\"><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0Instruments<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\">).<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin-top: 0.49cm; margin-bottom: 0.49cm; margin-left: 1cm; line-height: 21px; text-indent: -1cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The most current staining\u2019s (see\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Pr<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">otocols<\/span><a style=\"background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unige.ch\/sciences\/biologie\/bioveg\/crevecoeur\/protocoles\/\" target=\"Protocoles\"><span lang=\"en-US\">)<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0of sections used were :<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin-top: 0.49cm; margin-bottom: 0.49cm; margin-left: 1cm; line-height: 21px; text-indent: -1cm; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Astra Blue \u2013 Basic Fuchsin; Carmin &#8211; green iodide for vibratome sections.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin-top: 0.49cm; margin-bottom: 0.49cm; margin-left: 1cm; line-height: 21px; text-indent: -1cm; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">To<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">luidin<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0blue; Alcian Blue \u2013 Safranin; Astra Blue \u2013 Basic Fuchsin for paraffin sections.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin-top: 0.49cm; margin-bottom: 0.49cm; line-height: 21px;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Some micrographs relate to Epon sections stained either with methylene blue \u2013 basic fuchsin or with toluidin blue and this will be indicated on the relevant page.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin-top: 0.49cm; margin-bottom: 0.49cm; line-height: 21px;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The micrographs were taken for the majority with a Nikon Eclipse 80i microscope equipped with a Nikon DigitaL Sight DDS color camera.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin-top: 0.49cm; margin-bottom: 0.49cm; line-height: 21px;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">As far as possible, the scale, the type of section and the staining are indicated for each micrograph. If it is not it is because I have not been able to find this information in my archives\u2026it should be done later I hope !<\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin-top: 0.49cm; margin-bottom: 0.49cm; line-height: 21px;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Finally, some micrographs illustrate sections through organs of plants with medicinal properties. The microscope slides come from the collection of Georges Roux \u2013 pharmacist in Alger. They were\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">entrusted<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0to me by his grand-daughter C\u00e9line Roux. For these, unfortunately information on the type of section is not available and the staining is not always indicated. It should be noted the year of their realization is indicated for some of them and it is about 1940. The state of their conservation is excellent.
